PRICING

As you've read on my What I Do page (If you haven't I suggest you go there now, before reading about my pricing), Dog Whispering & Dog Psychology takes many more years to develop than simple dog training. There are no dog whispering courses; it's an art that comes from understanding dogs and their natures at a profound level. It's like having a Ph.D. and decades of experience instead of a certificate from an institute, or no formal training at all. Besides being in the Military Patrol Dog Program and being a K9 Police Officer, I have worked professionally with dogs for 50 years.  My skills are on par with Cesar Millan, but I have been working professionally with dogs much longer.  He comes from a dog walking background, where my experience is military & police training  (I hear he charges $6,000 for a personal session because he has a successful TV show -- you will find my rates much more reasonable, and my results equal, if not better).

WHAT I DON'T DO

1. Charge you for a series of lessons.

(Why are dog trainers trying to hook you into 4-6 sessions,  for $3000 or more, when you haven't even met them or had one session?) 99% of the time I am able to rehabilitate your dog and train you in one session

2. Charge you for an expensive boot camp

You're told that if you just send your dog to an amazing camp, he will be returned to you with no issues and you'll have the perfect dog. Besides costs, which are substantial, a bigger problem is that your dog's behavioral problems will most likely reappear quickly when they return to their previous environment, because you haven't been trained, and that training hasn't taken place where the dog's bad behaviors are occurring. Whatever caused your dog to have a certain problem is going to surface again, and if nothing has changed with you or your home, your dog's poor behavior is likely to return quickly. That's why it's so important that your dog is rehabilitated, and that you are also trained. Also, ask if they are using shock/e-collars. I don't use shock collars. Over half my clients have already used trainers or bootcamps with no success. I helped rehabilitate one dog that had been to 4 trainers, one dog behaviorist, and a one-month boot camp. At the end of that process, it attacked every person and dog it saw. After working with the dog and its owner, now it goes to the dog park every day and anyone can pet it. This was a 100-pound German Shepherd named Ozzie. This was obviously more than one session. But I haven't had to do a second session in almost two years.

3. Just train your dog to sit, stay, and perform a trick or two.

This may be inexpensive, but does it solve your dog's issues?

4. Mislead you on pricing

Many trainers appear to have low costs upfront, but when you make an appointment they will attempt to upsell you on a package of sessions that increases your costs substantially. I believe in cost transparency and will never deceive you with hidden fees.

  9. How to praise and correct your dog perfectly

  10. Stop your dog's aggression towards people

  11. Help you implement a customized plan for your dog combining exercise, discipline and affection, and how to balance these needs for your dog and household

  12. Coach you through learning how to communicate with your dog so that it understands and obeys you every time

  14. Stop the household dogs from fighting each other or being aggressive with unknown dogs

  15. Teach your dog to stay inside the front door with the door open until you call it out, every time

  16. Teach you and your dog to walk like PROS. No more barking or pulling, all while walking perfectly at your side

  17. Customize a plan for your dog combining exercise, discipline & affection

  18. Show you how to keep your dog's behavioral issues from returning

  19. An entire Puppy Program that is proven by experience (potty training, No more biting, teaching the rules of the house, walking perfectly by your side without pulling or barking, stop over-excitement and over-excited jumping on people, stop barking when told, and much more)

Lastly, I'll always tell you my pricing upfront. You will never be upsold on a package or hidden fees that increase what you pay the day of training.

THE NITTY GRITTY (MY RATES)

If you think that I can't do all this in 4 hours, join the club. This is what every one of my clients thinks before I arrive. That's because they are thinking like a dog trainer that will try to teach your dog to communicate in English, and how to sit, stay, and lay down. I don't do that. I teach you Dogease. Once you can actually communicate with your dog in a way that they understand, you can have perfect behaviors.

So, now that you have a little understanding, history, and perspective, let me share my rates.

My fee is $1695. $150 is paid through PayPal when you submit your contact form. Half of the remaining balance is paid after we talk on the phone and set up your session appointment. The remaining balance is paid after our session is complete. (There is a $200 extra fee for dogs under 40lbs that are biting, (or threatening to bite) people, and a $400 fee for dogs over 40lbs.)

For this, you will receive 4 hours of my time (less than a specialist physician or attorney).  I either come to your home, or we meet outside a dog park, depending on the problems you are experiencing. Either way, you're receiving 30 minutes of driving time each way (one hour in total to and from the session),  plus the two-hour session. Additionally, you'll receive up to one hour of phone consulting when I initially contact you. That's a total of 4 hours of my time and just a 2 hour session. Best of all you'll get FREE lifetime phone consultations with me for any future concerns. You are benefiting from 50 years of Professional Dog-Handling Experience from the number-one-rated dog handler in California by 5 Star Yelp Reviews -- having almost three times as many 5 Star reviews over the last 3 years than any dog handler in Southern California and 600+ 5 Star Reviews (if you're looking for the other 5-star reviews that aren't on the main page, check out the additional review categories).

You are paying for my time, not per dog.

Can I really do all this in 4 hours? Just read my customer's Yelp reviews and let them tell you.  I understand your dog and understand the best ways to correct their behavior without aggressive means. I understand how to communicate this effectively to you as well.  Why would you pay much more money and spend 6 sessions of your time to teach your dog English words (e.g. sit, stay, and lay down), when you could just learn Dogease, communicate with them, and change all their bad behaviors in 4 hours?

Thank you for taking the time to review my rate structure. Let me assure you that I can train you and fix ANY dog issue or problem you are experiencing, 99% of the time, in one session. (I haven't done a second session in almost two years).

Please note that I do work occasionally outside my coverage area with people and dogs for certain outdoor behavioral problems. In these cases, people have come to me from all over the western United States.

Remember, "When your dog's being bad, call Brad."
